sorry to bring up this old thread, but after buying a turbotech controller i finally fitted it today.

it acts very strage though. starting from a point loose enough to blow through, standard boost as it should (11psi, after the usual mods, zorst, intake)

I wind it up abit, it boosts to 12.5psi then straight away falls back to 10.5psi. wind it up another half turn it boosts up to 14.5psi, then straight away falls back to 10.5psi. I was thinking of winding it another half a turn, but i though i would see first if anybody had any ideas

has anyone else ever experienced this with one of these turbotech controllers?

There is a 30odd page thread about turbotech boost controllers on Skylines Australia forums, the line users have been running these for a while and found there is 2 diffrent versions available. 1 has a tiny <1mm hole on one side and the other version doesnt.
Many ppl have found that without the hole there was a bit of lag between gears but they did hold boost better where as the ones with the hole tended to have no lag between gear changes but did bleed of a couple PSI.
I ran one on my Cefiro for a while both no hole then one with hole drilled in it, there was a noticable diffrence but it still preformed like a typical bleed vavles, spiking and not maintainin even boost.

hmmm, its very odd after reading thought alot of the pages over there alot were saying that they only saw a 1psi boost spike, a couple said theirs was spike about 4-6psi, but this was ones with holes, when the hole was filled this stopped.

mine doesn't have this hole and i don't have to worry about lag between gear as my car is an auto.

why is it that some people are getting minimal spikes on these controllers while others get massive spikes.

thank for the info about it on the skyline forum.

after reading it one thing that came up was some peoples springs were upside down causeing it to get stuck by the sounds of it, i pulled mine apart gave it a clean, refitted it, (with the spring the other way)

she now holds the set pressure very smoothly.

what was happening was when the ball gets pushed up, the spring would catch and loosen the pressure on the ball so it would just free boost at my standard pressure
