sorry to dig an old thread, but how did this boost controller go man???

I am looking into upping the boost on my 1J, that pic is incredible, but now looking into controllers. Mine currently has 11psi, doesn't go anymore than that, so i was gonna look at going to 13-14psi and fit the new SAFC i got.

How did the turbotech one go adjusting the small increase in boost? bigworm said it doesn't do very well, What was your experience Chris? did you find it spiking much at all? otherwise i might just go the turbosmart bleedvalve like i used to have on the gt2.

yea man it goes pretty good, only put it up to 14 for a bit, doesnt spike found it did opposite, found boost dropped off to around 13psi towards redline, bit touchy as well tryin to fine tune boost but turn slowly and should be right

the spike is the initial boost hit. It definitely spiked for me. Maybe I got a dodgy one?

    most cars will.

    bleed valves are crude...

that said, ill chuck on my spare GFB bleed valve and let ya'll know how the 1J likes it.

    9 psi = 14.007 secs.

    14.5 psi = ????

not really, true, but its still the same basic principal..

mind you, my opinion of an EBC is a bleed valve (the solenoid) controlled by electronics.

so i think "bleed valves" are just mechanical boost controllers in general.

im probably wrong, but thats how i think of it, hope ya understand what im trying to explain...?

I think it is now the industry standard for how to hook up a boost controller to a twin turbo vehicle
