Depends on your spring length. Obviously longer is better because then you have enough thread if you get longer springs. I've built some with a 10 inch spring and I think that a shorter spring with a shorter thread mounted higher up would have been better.
WHY: you lose a bit of wheel to strut clearance when you have the threads really low. Ideally you would only have a few cms of adjustment for corner weighting and adjust height via different lenght springs. But everyone wants to have the easy undefect up we go long threads.
