check the VIN tag on the firewall.
If it's LSD it will have a C56-04C transaxle code.
I'm looking at buying a 4age blacktop halfcut which is advertised as having an LSD box.
It's not stated but I'm presuming it is a 5spd and hence C56 box.
This being the case is there visual way I can confirm it is indeed an LSD box?
If I'm lucky and it is a 6spd box (C160 ro C60???) how would I confirm that it is an LSD box?

Sweet..thanks for help.
yep ID tag as above
also for the 6 speeds....
well super strut = LSD
Hmmm interesting...does super strut = 6spd?
It doesn't say super strut, just big brakes as upgrade for corrolla. I'm assuming super-strut because my understanding was they were the ones to comes with big brakes.
my blacktop 5-speed cut had superstrut brakes. I think it was a BZ-V.
the 6-speed is either a C160-12C for LSD or C160-12A for open diff.
yeah superstrut comes with bigger brakes
iv don quite a lot of research into the c series lsd/non lsd both on the EPC and on actual cars.
on all the celicas and currens etc superstrut = lsd.
same with the levins/truenos. however BZ-G 6 speeds are pretty rare over here, the're all BZ-Rs!
5 speed BZ-V = lsd
as JP says, look on the build plate. C = LSD
