    Default Best methods to bleed cooling system

    G'day all, I'm sorry if you've covered this already, couldn't find anything on it. Ive got a 7mge and I have heard of a few methods, I really want to know the best way to bleed the cooling system.

    the ol' upside down coke bottle with the sawn off bottom... put some tape around the small end and plug it in your radiator fill hole. Fill it up a bit and have the car running, watch the bubbles come out and keep topping it up until it stops.

    For larger radiator fill holes I use cotties cordial bottles

    make sure you have the interior heater on when bleeding all cooling systems

    So does this create a higher point for air to escape or something?

    yeah i believe so. when i worked at toyota as an apprentice this was how they bled the cooling systems.

    lol last time I parked my car on a steep hill to do it, these methods would have helped alot.

    Speed shouldn't matter. Just have the heater on the hottest setting it can go and dont put the 'auto' climate control on. Just full on hot stuff will do. That way the heater valve stays fully open all the time.
