possibly a plate with 3 holes , using bolts to pull it up and off
Im rebuilding my e51 box im having trouble with the No. 3 clutch hub and synchronizer ring. Mainly removing it the bgb specifies that you need an sst to remove it
do i need the sst is there a generic ie non toyota puller available like that???
Is there another way to remove it without a puller like screwing in bolts into the holes to push the clutch hub away from the gear???
possibly a plate with 3 holes , using bolts to pull it up and off
harmonic balancer puller and 3 m8 x1.25 bolts ftw
once the outer hub with the bolt holes comes off the rest will just fall out
ahh that makes sense sweet have to give that a shot + repOriginally Posted by ecotechilux

Yeah, that one and one of the other gears was a bitch, I acutually made up a puller to get the other one off. And the T45 torx bolts were so tight it needed an electric rattle gun and the most expensive torx insert I could buy, and even that twisted...

this gearbox rebuild is costing a bit just in tools to get it apart lol
For sure. I had a few and made a few, you're going to need a nice press and a few different press plates etc to get the shafts apart later too. I think my T45s were so tight because my box had been apart before and was put back together with a rattle gun or something. Just a guess, but since it had an aftermarket LSD, SOMEONE had to have taken it apart. I think the facco torque setting is 45nm or something: not much.
