I might be tempted to take SPIDA down for a full 1/4 mile run and see what time it does. Not that I'm going to become a regular strip junkie.

I am thinking of trying to enter some Motorkhanas or Hill Climbs though. Wonder if any Toymodders or OST'ers would be interested? I'll ask properly in another thread though, just curious...

Cool Re: Whoop Ass Wednesday - 15 Feb 06

Most helmets have an Aust. Standards sticker on them with the number 1698, which are ADR approved, I'm pretty sure (good for Motorkhanas anyway).

I'll take my old SHOE full-face helmet with redback stripe

Sounds like there might be a few TA22 Celicas there! I'm not sure how fast mine will go, but we have to nominate a time (after a practice run?), and from what I can tell, mine might be in the 13's? But that's what I'll find-out.

I'm also curious to see what kind of cars I end-up up against, and how well/badly I handle the start

Geeee, maybe 13's is ambitious since a Supra is looking at 14? Only one way to find out.

Damo, do we just turn-up and pay on the night or do we need to organise something in advance?

With this, you need to nominate times you think you won't beat, and try to beat the other car (unless they beat their time and get eliminated), is that right?

Hey Gene yeah mate just turn up and pay on the night, you will need a helmet, long sleeves and long pants and enclosed footwear.

As for nominating a time, thats not the case with whoop ass wednesday, ya just go down the strip as many times as you can in a night and try ya best each time.
The only time you nominate times is for drag combat. But this is completly different and just a fun night more than anything.

13's isnt out of your reach, weighing in about 500kgs lighter than us and only about 50hp less than most of us, you may just be surprised.

Ohh well thats what wednesday nights are all about, try it and see.

C'mon Damo, we never did get to have that run last time. You might do better with some real rubber, not what you had on last time!
