    Default CT20b on ST165?

I'm thinking of putting the CT20b setup on my ST165.

My question is does the manfiold and turbo sit in the same place as the 165 and is there much stuffing around to do it??

I'm pretty stuck for space as this is in my AW11 so I don't really have room for it to stick out any further than the current setup.

Also, what sort of power gains if any should I expect with this or am I better to go down the supra CT26/26A path?

    Thanks in advance, Justin.

the ST165 manifold and turbo are single entry much the same as the 7M-GTE turbo.

If you want the same sort of performance as the CT20B, then i would personally upgrade to the CT26 off the 7M as it uses the larger 45mm compressor. You just need to rotate the housing slightly to make it fit into the STOCK position.

If you insist on using the CT20B, then source yourself an exhaust manifold off a ST185, and dump pipe as well, and it'll be bolt up after that.

Does the CT26A have the same size compressor wheel? I've been told they have larger internals.

I can get my hands on a higflowed CT26A pretty cheap but i'm worried that it may be laggier on the 3S.

I just thought the CT20b would spool faster.

    CT26A, eh? there was only a CT26.......

It might be a touch laggier, but it will have more top end once you eventually turn the boost up.

Apparently the Turbo A 7MGTE's had a different turbo.

Hrrm, either way, that personally is a better option.

The CT20B's are just CT26's with a much better turbine and housings on them.

    Well is the highflowed CT26A a viable option for a GEN1 3SGTE???

Or will it create too much lag?

They are rare and if you find them, they're probably buggered. But... I'd say its probably gunna be laggy on the 2 litre.

I've got a highflowed ct26 on mine, and it does come on later.

I can get one that was rebuilt in the last year for like $400.

Don't know if it will work for what I want thats all.

you're not going to get bugger all lag on a highflowed CT26 on a gen 1 3SGTE. Theyre CT26's by default anyway.. Theres guys running much bigger, fatter TD-06's on 3SGTE gen 2's with little lag over stock also so id say you'd be fairly safe highflowing it..
