Just thought I would contribute my 2c

When using the FMIC, the air is cooled and becomes denser.
Because its denser the air also consumes less space and drops in pressure.

This effects superchargers because they pump a specific amount of air per rotation.
It doesnt effect turbos as they use the wastegate to control boost therefore always supplying the same pressure.
Give MWP the cigar. I had the same experience with the FMIC. FWIW I was running the AE101 SC and a Cusco pulley with the ABV mod.

It sounds your getting the infamous 'power loss' issue that plagues/by design in th AE101 SC motors. I would get the identical behaviour for some arbitrary period of time after starting the car. Most evident on the dyno. I would suggest searching the club4ag.com forums however I think they are still down. I wonder if this is a shot/sensitive knock sensor as Ghetto was talking about ...

The only other consideration is that I heard (yes italics means I havent ripped open the ECU ROM to confirm) that the MAP ECU's are mapped through to 1 bar and then after that they dump fuel into the fuel map. AFM ECU's are apparently mapped to a higher boost level. I havent confirmed it but it is enough for me to keep my now 4AGTE on MAP ECU limited to 14psi (which is mega rich anyway).

Why not SC14? I bought a setup but never got around to fitting it.

FWIW I still reckon the best IC for a SC motor is A/W - short tubing runs and excellent heat absorption qualities.

Anyway, best of luck trouble shooting!
    Den - GTAE86
    Yellow 4AGTE - MR2 brakes - Corona LSD/Axle - Recaros - lotsa JDM - mesh 15's

As featured in Boost Magazine - Cool huh

If you want to go crazy though, ive always wanted to know what you can get with the EA air con pulley -> SC12 + nevo pulley -> crank.

I rekon with an adequate FMIC and 3SGTE MAP sensor you could get 18psi

Sure a lot of ppl will say the SC12 will die and there is too much heat and bla bla...but someone has to fucking do it. I heard that some dude actually tested the failure point of the SC12's and he got a couple that could hold 18psi reliably
My 4agze with stock sc pulleyt and nevo runs on average 15-17psi

at 14.7 psi the injectors cut, i had to get a fuel cut defender to allow me to hammer it, cause it goes above 14.7psi pretty much straight away

when i had tmic, smaller pulley sc12 and massive crank pully (had to machine down waterpump pulley to fit it) i would get 16-17psi but would only get 2 laps down the highway before it started pinging its tits off, when i got fmic, head and inlet manifold modifications i dropped 6 psi i would be lucky to get 11psi but buuuuuut it made heaps more power and torque so lower boost and more power. Out of all the mods the fmic probly had the biggest gain.

p.s i went threw like 4-5 sc12's they dont like 9000 engine rpm
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
