Very apt description ................ I replaced this hose twice in 3 years, plus 2 head gaskets due to overheating in my 7MGE MX83 and never again. I want nothing to do with 5, 6 or 7M engines, I went 1UZ and haven't looked back.Originally Posted by Yian

How could toyota have let the head gasket abuse go on for literally decades? 5Ms even had hg problems didnt they?
Thank god for nissan who forced toyota to develop the 1jz lol
I recon she should get rid of the fuckin thing and just buy a jza but shes attached to it haha

The JZX81 never came as a manual, there are some around in Japan but they have all been converted to manual.Originally Posted by EldarO

If in doubt power out
If you search Mr Google, there is evidence that the Supra brigade in USA had a partition with over 30000 signatures making demands on Toyota to make a specifically reworked head gasket for 5, 6 & 7MGE and MGTE engines so as to correct the head gasket problem and they were told by Toyota engineers, they didn't know of any head gasket problems with these engines and therefore a new head gasket was not warranted.
Maybe the profit from the sale of gasket sets was suitably high enough that it meant Toyota wasn't about to give it up.
Cheers, D
