I've just discovered that I've worn out the 3rd front left stub axle within 18 months.
This is the part the wheel & brake rotor bolt to & is pressed inside the wheel bearing.
The part where it presses into the inside inner wheel bearing race gets worn.
I'm suspecting that a combination of my driving style (I've got a diesel so it needs to be kept on the boil around corners to keep up pace), the 17" rims & 215/45R17 Azenis (as opposed to crap 175/75R14 that were stock), & the ST205 calipers & 300mm discs (single spot & 256mm originally) are the cause, but I've been using ST205 stub axles as replacements (they're not the same part number as my car but dimensionally seem identical ).

So has anyone got any ideas on how to fix? Apart from the obvious ones like slowing down, removing parts, etc.
As a note, the ST205 wheel bearing, even though it presses on the same, has a thicker inner race moving the bearing cage further outwards & therefore won't fit my car.
