i dont nknow if this is the *right* thing to do but ive always just tossed my old brake fluid in with my scrap oil and eventually it goes off to the oil recycling bin once my shed is full and reaches critical mass

i think my solution whilst dodgy is the best of any ive heard so far

I have always just disposed of the brake fluid into my old oil (engine/gearbox/diff) and then gone down to the tip and poured it into the recycling tank so they can filter it and sell it as "Home Brand" oil at Woolworths

RBF 600 is the best. I use it in my wrx that has got huge alcon brakes on it and i do heaps of track work never had an issue with it. You can buy it from autobarn it about $28 a bottle

The great thing about living in a unit block is we have communal bins. Obviously I don't put used oil and fluids into the bin, I do however leave it in a position that the caretaker/gardener can see it near the bins. What he does with it I have no idea, but he looks like the kind of guy who knows where to take it.

Yup, the big oil tank at the tip is the best place to dispose of said used brake fluid. I always keep some old stuff sitting on a shelf if i ever need to flush the system. Saves wasting new stuff and $$.

I, and everyone I've ever known or seen, contrary to ALL the books, have NEVER used a piece of tubing immersed in fluid!
Waste of time, effort & fluid!
Just let it spew, after letting gravity do most of the air removal/bleeding, and using a wedge to hold the pedal down if it's a one man op.

I always thought re-using it or using fluid from a bottle that was opened some time ago was a big no no....brake fluid absorbs moisture out of the air which is not a good thing to introduce in to your braking system!

The thing is, the brake fluid that's in there originally has also had the same amount of time to absorb moisture, yet has been heatcycled and all sorts of shit. I see no harm in doing that for the purposes of just flushing some of the old shit out.
