He actually bought an adaptor to give himself a T3 flange (he runs a GT3040R), but the manifold was just the standard chinese T4 flanged ebay job

yes you can buy them, and theyd be no more than $50 to get made.

a hi flowed turbo can make 300-400hp atw with the right tuning and mods around it. so for 1100 it aint bad, sure you dont have a big blingy new turbo, but theres a massive price difference.

new manifold or adaptor, new turbo theres 1800 for the turbo alone, new dump pipe, new oil and water lines, possibly an external wastegate, new intercooler piping.

a second hand t3 or t4 would be a decent upgrade, i opted just for a used hiflowed t04 and performs exceptionally well for 500 bucks, its not ball bearing but i have the capacity to turn it quick enough anyway, the 7m also has this benefit.

what about adapter to suit exsisting manifold 2nd hand turbo for $400-500 + dump and oil lines, still less than the high flow and "better" in the long term

to suppor this obviously id need 1uz afm and 550 injectors, already have the safc2 to fuel it.

I know GCG turbos will fit a GT35R turbo to your CT26 exhaust housing but the price was very high about $2200 from memory

Seeing as you're in SA I'd give ATS a call. I know they've upgraded a few CT26's in the past. Pretty sure they put in a T04E wheel and just clip the turbine a bit.
