I think so, bear in mind when comparing to American Dyno Jet dyno, Dyno Dynamics have a much greater drivetrain loss ie 20-30% for a RWD vs 5-10% for the Dyno Jet dyno.

then I'm kinda disappointed, just looking on that list i can think of 3s-gte's (well apart from josh) and 1jzgte's that make more power than whats there.

Dude you can't just look at the number and ask why the ones that make more power weren't there. On the day the cars that enterred made the power listed. Mine made 288 rwkw last time it was on that dyno and only made 266 this time. There were other cars that were 5-10% down on what they made earlier last week on the same dyno. Comparison can only really be drawn between the cars that ran on the day, although records obviously will be updated since if you made more power on Sunday than the record it's a fair bet your car deserves the record.

It's a lot like horsepower hero's at the nats, everyone reckons their car could win it but either they aren't willing to put their money where their mouth is or the car isn't as tough as they thought. Not saying people here aren't willing to put up but it's not as easy as some people seem to think.

Meh to me the dyno day is just a great social day and a quick assessment on if recent mods may or may not have helped.

Not to mention as cool as making a bucket load of power is have a look at Joel's 1jzgte power curve, 200rwkw but its so flat.

You also have to remember the dyno day is really only advertised via word of mouth and on a few forums so those that come generally are just there to have a good time.

Hell the guys running the 18rc's were as competitive against each other as the big power boys. Its just a great day to catch up with ppl, talk shit and listen to some quality machinery being wound out. .

That being said, the quality and the overall power levels of the cars attending keeps getting better each time.

Out of interest how many new members (rough estimate) does the club get from dyno days, seems to attract quite a few.

there was only 5 new members from this Dyno day which is deffently alot less then the normal.

DD13: 78.5kw, IT = 16 deg
& DD12: 85.3kw, IT = 28 deg

BP = Barometric Pressure
RH = Relative humidity
AT = ambient temp
IT = intake temp
RR = Ramp Rate (This is a dyno figure preset in shootout mode)
TN = I think this is a dyno figure, tractive something...
CK = Not sure.
CF = This is a built in inertia rate setup by DD. You'll notice that graph posted says shoot_6f. This means shootout mode, 6 cylinder, forced induction. If not set correctly it affects the power figure.

It might work out next year ( IF POSSIBLE) to get it on first so it can be chained down ( which takes a fair bit of time) as i'm not 100% sure the straps will hold it if he keeps gaining power like it is

we had trouble with wheelspin, so next time I will have to get there even earlier so it can be chained down (I wonder what time I will have to leave home, my neighbours must hate me, I drove the car out of my street at 530am as it was )

with the heat and the wheelspin, I was down about 100hp.

good to see everyone again, with the heat though, I couldnt wait to get back in the car, turn on the A/C and drive home

was a good day shame i didnt break the 1800 forced record for the 3rd time in arow i lost 5kws from last time. Inlet temp last time was 19 degrees and this time was 40degress so 5kw drop ant bad at all. Plus my valve guides are stuffed as well.

the same could be said for people who dont take these big power cars to the track and race them.

there are 48 wednesday night meetings a year at wsid per year, 3 sport compact meetings at wsid per year, 24 weekend test and tunes or bracket meetings at wsid per year, and 2 major ANDRA group 1 meeting per year at wsid.

how many dyno comps are there a year, 3 or 4.

so 77 opportunities to go to the track or 3 to 4 to go to a dyno comp.

i would prefer to think that people have different passions for the car and motorsport, not that they are soft cocks sitting at home in the air conditioning
