Default Submitted Forum User Signup - But no response?

    Hi,

I have been part of a user signup submission for my friend (He used my PC to put his details in.) and nothing has come of it. This was submitted over 2 days ago and I have heard back nothing.

The account has been 'activated' by use of the link that gets emailed out, however there as been no other email correspondance for the account.

What is going on? Are you not accepting any more signups? This particular friend of mine has tried to sign up now probably about 5 times in total, and has had no response EACH and Every time.

WHO is in control of this and HOW do I get it sorted.

    Stradlater,
    What is his name???
I'll see what I can find out.
However if he has signed up 5 times he WOULD of got some type of responce because I cleaned out every single one just last week.

Also ask him to check his spam filters/folders.

Occasionally we also get a "confirm you're human" type email which we don't always have the chance to respond to, so the forum emails may have never got to him.

Kirsty: Orange_23 is the username that got used this time. The last couple of times, he used an email account that's located on my personal server, and I know for a fact that nothing came back, because I had control over it.

Mos: This time it's going to an email account that resides on MY own server, so I know exactly what comes in and out of it, and there's no spam filters.

As for the 'confirm your human' email, I don't entirely know what your referring to, but all we've done is by the book, just using your designated interface.

I've looked into it and to start off with he needs to put in his FULL name.
    Not just his first!

As for the Confirming your human emails,
Alot of people still think that sign ups are done by the computer. They are not. Each and every one of them is checked personally by someone ( Mainly me at the moment )

To my knowledge it was the full name. Hell, I actually typed the thing. So if the full name isn't there then I'll put it in.

HOW do I go about putting it in then?

    Orange_23 has
    first name - **********
    last name - C

You can't change it now unless I delete him.
If you want to send me his Full name Via Pm then I will change and approve him right now.

One of the admins needs to amend the full name for you. And no, he (or you) definitely did not put in the last name (and here I keep thinking the requirements are abundantly clear)
PM myself or Kirsty with the surname and we can go from there.

Chances are that in 2 days no one has processed the applications, rather than email being lost. As Kirsty said, they each get processed individually, and if everyone who does these has a busy week, they'll hang around a bit longer.

"Confirm you're human" emails are a response to an email from an unknown sender - so say your server is configured to only allow receipts from known senders, and should the sender be unknown, it will reply with an email saying "confirm you're human", and should the confirmation come through, the original email will be sent to the recipient, and the sender will be added to the authorised senders list. This stops spam lists and bots sending you email as they will not reply to the confirmation email.

as said, an admin needs to amend it unless the mods or super mods have access to do that
