    Default Neither here nor there????

hey guys just wondering what that little green box under a users reputation means.
when you put your mouse over it it says "USERNAME Neither here nor there".
    clicking it does nothing.

    <----- This thing

    cheers

    Hi,

It is to do with your reputation. I've seen people with less than 10 have "on a slippery slope", most others have "neither here nor there", and those with a lot of rep have "going places".

That is an indication of your rep power.... it is calculated by the reputation you have, you post count and how long you have been on the forums.

When you start "getting there" I believe that when you give someone reputation it counts for 2 rep points and the higher you rep power the more points you are worth.

    Hi all,
I've added a new FAQ about it. Read it here:

man it'll take a while to get to the top. So just to clarify does having a higher "rank" allow you to give more rep each instance??

And also the FAQ is slightly wrong

That box indicates whether a user is online or not.
This is not true, the green DOT shows you if the user is online, the green BOX is always there and green, I think.

No. Your rep power increases every 100 rep points.

its cool, just thought i woudl help out .

Also on the topic, i know that you don't really have ultimate control over everything but the little green dot looks so lonley on a hole line by itself. Is it possible to make it add dots? so you don't have to hover over everyone but can see at a glance how "good" they are.

    So as an example:

4 red dots -250: User is a labrador selling clown
3 red dots -75: User About to be on his bike
2 red dots -20: User Needs to wake up to himself
1 red dot 0: User On a slippery slope
1 green dot 10: User Neither here nor there
2 green dots 50: User Getting there
3 green dots 150: User Knows what he's talking about
4 green dots 250: User Been there and done that
5 green dots 500: User Listen to this one
6 green dots 750: User is a name known to all
7 green dots 1000: User has much to be proud of
8 green dots 1500: User has a brilliant future
9 green dots 2000: User has a reputation beyond repute

    Just a thought...

Interesting idea, but it'd have to be a hack of the forum software which is something we don't want to do.

Formatting can be a bitch in HTML.
