    And there would be cutting/welding involved as the rear floorpan of the GT4s is different to allow fitment of the rear drivetrain

    It would be very hard. Even with a full donor GT4 and good welding skills actually making it work properly is tricky.

    Just enjoy your current car as is, or buy a GT4.
    I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
    Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

    Alternatively, you could look at early Rav4 drivelines, sub-frames and independant rear suspension mounts & links etc.

    Pull what you need from a wreckers and offer it up to your existing floorpan.
    Many FWD's still have a centre tunnel (probably helps stiffen chassis/body)

    If you know someone who in general engineering / fabrication, it might not be as hard as people imagine.
    Perhaps prop-shaft mods
