2tgeu sump sensor

I am wondering if someone could tell me what the sensor in the sump of a 2tgeu is for. I presume it is some kind of oil level/ temp sender and if I dissconnect it does it interfere with the E.F.I. side of things.

It is just for a light on the dash to show low level, EFI will not care.

That Is good news. I am in the middle of a transplant and am modifying the sump.So while I am there I will blank off the hole.
