Default 22RE Fuel Pulsation Dampner Replacement

Okay last week my car started leaking from the Fuel Pulsation Dampner (Again).
This would have been the 4th time I replaced the stupid thing in the 2 years I've owned it, I've gotten all the replacements from the local U-pull it because I really couldn't stand the thought of buying a new one from yota for $100.

So while I was walking though the U-pull looking for another 22RE to get the FPD from, I see a 22RE in a truck, I take a closer look and nope, no FPD, its got a Banjo bolt instead, I wander around and cannot find another FPD (I Must have gotten them all ).

I remember reading (Here) that you can change out the fuel line from the filter to the banjo bolt from an 88+ 22RE to remove the FPD, so I run back to the pickup and check and Darnit someone cut the bloody fuel line to get the fuel filter off. So I just grab the banjo bolt after checking to make sure it will thread into an 85 fuel rail of course. Go up to the counter and paid ... Nothing, the guy just looked at it and said "Have a nice day."

I get home and start taking things apart knowing that I can figure somethign out...
Heres the FPD in its place..
    (Arrow pointing at FPD)

(You may need to take off your Air Intake hose.)

And heres the New Banjo Bolt

Using an Adjustable Wrench I remove the FPD, Then I compare the New and the Old.

Yep look pretty close to me...
On a side note heres where every FPD I've had leaks from (The Screw)

So I look at the old brass washer and figure that there is no way that it will seal properly...

(The silver washer to the side is the washer that was on the banjo bolt)

After about 5 minutes looking at the Fuel line, the banjo bolt and the washers I had an Idea. I ran to the local Auto-Zone , taking both washers with me, I walk in and tell the guy "I've got a challenge for you, I need a copper washer with the same ID as this washer here (The new style washer) and the same OD as this washer here (The Old Style Washer)". He looks at me for a second, reaches under the counter and pulls out a Bin full of copper washers, sorts one out, hands it to me, and asks "Whats the challenge?" I check and the Copper Washer has the Exact dimensions I was looking for. I pay $.58 and head home...

After getting home I set all the washers out side by side to double check.

Drop the new washer on the Banjo bolt.

And Tighten into placewith a 19mm Socket...

Get in, turn the car to on, and wait a minute for the fuel pressure to build back up, Start the car and get out to check for leaks.
Using a paper napkin I wipe around the new banjo bolt and check the napkin for fuel, its clean and I'm happy I dont have to deal with this stupid leaky FPD anymore.

    Tools Needed:

Adjustable Crescent Hammer (to remove FPD)
    19mm Socket & associated Equipment
Banjo Bolt from 88+ 22RE ( no P/N yet, but I'm looking for it)
Oil Drain Gasket (AutoZone P/N 366175)
    5 Minutes.

Mine leaked and just replaced the washers. Will there be any adverse affects from pulling this off?

None that I have heard of, I dont see why it should as the same engine 88+ didn't have the leaky FPD.

After checking out the old one I'm not even sure exactly what it did.
