howdy people need some technical advice.
I want to get a pfc fcon but i have a gen2 1g-gteu and it says it suited to the gen3 1g-gteu. Will the plugs be different so i can't connect it staight up and will the settings be different since the gen3 has more power??
Also can these be tuned

Gen 3 is waste spark coil pack ignition.
Isnt gen 2 dizzy? Ie different ECU so probably different plugs?
I havent ever installed an aftermarket ECU but i thought you get the plugs the manufacturer designed/felt like using, and the installer has to cut and join the whats what to where... Hence the one type of aftermarket ECU being compatible with many engines? Is this anything along the lines of what you mean? Its an topic i am just starting to learn about.
Anyhow, have a gen3. Its s'charged, but if there is any "check and see" help i can give, lemme know.

all 1ggTe's have dizzys, not coil packs. I think the 1ggZe's run coil packs? Im sure there are f-cons out there for gen2's. I dont think its really worth cutting up a perfectly good loom for the sake of about 10kw's.

Yeah its a gen3 gze. Didn realise turbo's were dizzy.
The cutting i meant is right at the clips for the ECU, or do you order a ECU to suit your exact engine and the clips match??? Job to install would therefore takes about 2 minutes...? If your ECU is behind a kick panel or such.

gen 3 and gen2 GTE looms and ECUs are different.
the plugs are different (more pins on gen3 engine) so by the sounds of it, your new computer wont plug in.
your ecu probably has yellow plugs, if it has grey plugs then you might be in luck

ah poo i want it. Yeah mine are yellow plugs (gen2) and gen3 is grey. Oh well will have to find something else

Have you looked at the Jaycar DFA? You're a resourceful little bugger, you could probably build one and get it working. Much more resolution than a pooey old Fcon.

Put it this way, the F-CON stuff is going for $450. I just sold all my Jaycar DFA gear unused to BigPerm for his Cressida for $150. Much more bang for buck in my opinion.
