    Default T Series Diff Interchangability

I have a TA22 Diff that im going to put into my KE55, I have the oppurtunity to get my hands on a JDM AE86 TRD LSD center and was wondering if its going to go into my housing without any issues? ive heard that some of the bolts are a bit different and causes them to leak because you cant get a decent seal?

Do the ta22 diffs use the same spline axels as the JDM t series?

    cheers

In addition, would it be possible to take the LSD gear out of the JDM housing and swap it over into the TA22 center?

I have a 4.1 TA22 centre in my t-18 t-series in my AE86 so I would assume that they would have the same splines on the axles.

The AE86/T-18 T-series have 1 stud of the 10 that hold the diff in the housing alot longer than the other 9 so you will just have to find a long stud for that.

The only issue that I can see is if the diff centre that your purchasing is a late model AE86 centre then your axles wont fit. If it is to suit a zenki AE86 then it will fit, if it is to suit a kouki then it wont fit.

Hope that is all correct and helps you

Steve - How can you tell what series they are? its the Diff out of Eddie's AE86. i just wana make sure itll fit before i 100% commit to buying it.

also when you say the studd is too short, you mean the ones on the housing? like all the threaded stuff on my corolla and my 20v those threads will turn out? and i should be able to replace it with a long one off a T series housing?

yer, the ones in the housing, I have one out of the car here somewhere, If i can find it I will measure it up, then just get some threaded rod the same thread and cut to size.
It is easy enough to get the old one out, you can do it by putting on two nuts and undoing the one closest to the housing thus undoing the stud.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
