Default AE82 4AC- 4AGE conversion- electrical problems, urgent help please!

I have a mate who has just converted his AE82 from 4AC to 4AGE, he put the motor in and has swapped the engine loom from the twincam into his, but none of the other looms, and has just done a custom wiring job for the power side of things for the ECU, from the plug that used to go into the body wiring.
The problem is, everything is getting power such as fuel pump, injectors etc, but just not working.
the engine will crank, but there is no spark from the cloil, which is getting power.
and the EFI main relay isn't clicking.
I am going around tomorrow night to help him sus it out, has anyone got any suggestions where to start looking for the problems/ how to fix it.
He has been told that he needs to run the dash loom also to get it to work properly, is this the case?
Has anyone else had a similar problem doing this conversion?
Thanks in advance for any help and info!
    Cheers.

and one plug will be missing that runs across the front of the car

everything plugs in and it seems like a quick and easy job but i wired one up afew weeks ago and its not so quick and easy

obviously if the efi relay isn't clicking, nothing in the loom will recive power
if there is power it should work, if it doesn't the voltage is lower then required
again if the loom is untouched then the power your feeding through the main relay into the
efi system needs to be 10amps plus

wiring is sometimes anoying as you have to test eveything to get it right, if no multimeter hot wire with care

    start at the relay

(relays must be wired and grounded through the coil seperatly as the power diminishes once it passes through and may not close/open the relay after it, it may work for 2 relays max)

exactly right. We did the conversion with a mate 4ac --> bigport 4age and we swapped over the engine, dash and headlight loom and didn't have any problems what so ever.

Is your mates name on msn jay dizzle? spoke to him about it.

This is what my car looked like...not a small job

way i do it you dont have to change anything behond the dash or in the front headlight section of the car

but i know you can plug the efi loom into the carby body loom but it will not work
some wires are in different spots

anyway i have to go earn some money

just take it to yr local auto elect and get him to fix it
    might take afew days thou
