hey mate im running mine at 14PSI with a boost controller now but before i got that just for a test i shimmed the twins this means putting steel washers between the bracket and the turbo on the wastegate making the arm travel further before the wastegate will open =more bost .....i had three washers on each bolt for both turbos and i got 12PSi with not a bit of spike or trouble ...... works well as a temp boost untill you get the controller but i dont suggest doing this for extended time as i simply dont know if it will cause problems in the wastegates ....... so do it at your own risk just because it worked for mine may not work on older shabby motors ... good luck with it mate

rollsy-did you measure the boost level at the inlet plenum?
Because the wastegates run off pressure at the turbo, which will be few psi higher than pressure at the inlet manifold, which would explain why a gen3 1g is reading 9psi
p.s for the ultimate ghetto boost increase just get a pin and puncture the line to the wastegate a few times, test drive and if more boost needed add more holes. repeat until desired boost level is achieved. also not something id ever do to my own car![]()
