its not like a boost controller is expensive.... i have no experience with the turbo setup of the 1ggte but you may be able to loosen or is that tighten the wastgate actuator rod to allow more boost its not the best way to do it tho and proabably advisable that you get a boost guage

Bleed type valves are fairly cheap, most being under $100.
I have an old Apexi AVCR for sale. PM for more details.

I made the most cheapo bleed type valve ever. It consiste of a plastic tee piece (like those use on window washer systems) with a calibrated hole drilled into it. One line each goes to the wastegate actuator, the other I plumbed into the intake pipe after the turbos - The vacuum line I think that was used for the power steer? It uses the same principle as a common bleed valve, tricking the wastegate actuators. Instead of restricting the bleed air, you are venting it. Start with a small hole and take your beast for a run and see what it boost to. If you want more boost, drill a bigger hole in the plastic tee piece. It seemed to work well and didnt ever spike!

Yup you need a boost controller, electronic is the best as when setup they dont spike where a bleed valve can significantly spike depending on the unit and the engine it is attached to. I personally have removed my bleed valve for this reason, just spiked too much for my liking.

Any other dodgy ways of doing this are open to risk, sure they might work successfully but for how long and what if the component u have modified breaks, personally it wouldnt be a risk id be willing to take!

Bad bad uncontrollable thing though. :-)

Might I suggest that if you have no money for a bleed valve then you'd probably hate to pay for new turbos when the poor little things cry uncle.

Maybe wait until you can do it properly.

Cry uncle? Why would one cry uncle if not for some incestuous scenario?

As in give up. They're not the hardiest thing in the world.

Mind you I've never seen anyone associate that term with incest before.

Actually, not many people kill 1G turbos, even with those who do stupid things to them. So long as they don't do it all the time, the little steel-wheeled jobbies hang in pretty well.
