Linkage 1 in your diagram is the east-west on the shifter
You didn't check it would select all the gears before you bolted it up?! Was the box you got known to be good or a bit of a lucky dip?
Hey guys again,
Me and cam just put a SV21 gearbox into his ST162 (3SGE) to fix the synchro crashing he was having with his old box. We have the box fitted and everything running, cept for 1 problem. It wont shift into 5th or reverse and when you select 1st its like selecting 3rd (the shifter 'movement' is moved over somewhat it seems). I've tried shifting with just the linkages and i still can't select 5th or reverse.
Anyways the question is this. In the picture below, which linkage on the box shifts west-east along the H pattern, 1 or 2. And which one shifts north south, 1 or 2. Just trying to eliminate putting the cables on the wrong linkages but i dont think i have done so. Just trying to cross off boxes. I'll be spewing if 5th and reverse are blown and we have to pull the box out.
Cheers
Sam

Didn't notice the other half of your message last night.
We bought the box from Japanese Parts World down here which gave us a 3 month warrantee with it. So we assumed it'd be okay as they check there parts over before they sell them. This is also the first time i've played around with front wheel drive boxes i thought that it was shifting into all gears fine before we bolted it in. Wasn't untill it was bolted in we realised somethings a wrong.
