are you still using your stock brake mc? if the hilux is a 4pot and the celica was single then thats the problem
Hey,
Just a quick thankyou to you all for the info that you can get off this forum.Time after time I can come back and get any questions answered. Now I did a search and am still unclear what I should do.Just finished that Corona,Hilux and disc conversion but when braking the car stops eventually but it takes awhile and my brake pedal is at the floor. Is there a bolt in MC or something that can fix this.
Cheers Pete

Toyota Sprinter AE86
Is the system bled correctly? No air?
If so, then yeah definitely need a bigger master cylinder.. Unsure what one fits ta22 though sorry..
If the pedal is reaching the floor then there must be air in the system still. The displacement size would have to be a massive increase for the pedal to reach the floor if fully bled.
A late model camry master is suitable for ta22 booster from memory? Think it was the V6 item?

Sounds like mc to small to me.
I've used mitsubishi L300 van its a15/16 mc an bolts straight up to 22 booster .
hope that helps.
yeh id try bleeding them again after a few days.
i ended up lifting one side of my car nearly a foot off the ground to bleed the callipers on the low side. giving it a good tap with the hammer etc.
still werent good but after a week and repeating this process they were great.
hello
Thanks for all the replies there guys. Will look at this Mitsubishi/Triton MC after I bleed the brakes a few more times just to make sure that the new MC is needed. Will let you now how I go and send in piccies. She is due for the mod plate in the next few weeks so shall be on the road soon.
Thanks again pete
hi mate,
i had the same prob when I upgraded my fronts to 4 spots. I used a Camry v6/ST205 master cylinder which is 1" bore and bolts straight up. You just need to massage the lines a bit to get them to line up. now the pedal is hard as a rock
I think that I might go for the late maodel V6 option. When sayiong late model is that from say 2000 to 2005.Just to make sure before going out to buy.
Cheers
I thought late 90s, but you'd need to check with someone who knows, like 3sgte ta22 here. If you get one brand new its not as if it matters whether its from a new model or not.Originally Posted by 13BTTA22

yeah mate, you would be looking for a mid to late 90's item if going with the camry. go down to the wreckers and grab one there mate. take your old one with you and just make sure the holes line up. it will say on the master cylinder the size of the bore, just make sure it is nice and clean around the bore area. I picked mine up for $30 I think. Alot cheaper than buyer new.
