Every one seems to be bagging out rob, which i dunno why, cos the 1G was never a huge power plant and he isnt trying to claim that it is, so leave him alone.

But seeing though it all seems to be about beating rob maybe instead of measuring our HP readouts in HP we could measure it in percentages compared to rob's 1G.

    robs 1G 124hp = 100%
    eldars 7m 180hp? = 145%
    Peewee 1UZ 300hp? = 241%
    All the Sprintas 800hp+ = 645%

figures are just an estimate, to show the percentage system, although probably pretty close.................... in most cases

We could have a trophy for who can guess wot percentage they are gunna beat rob by.

Hey rob lets install ya boost controller ay? Show em wot ya 1G can do!!

Well, Matty, i thought it was rob that piped up to me at our last "meeting", not the other way around? i think thats why all this started, as i was under the impression that this car club was for people that got along...?

hahahaha well after having owned both of these engines i know which one i would and wouldnt purchase again

By the way "The Bling Garage" does not endorse any purchasing or installations of 7M's either expressed or implied, Thus will not be held responsible for their destined failure

I loved my lil 1G, it might not have had 200hp but it was pretty quick and laid some phat burnouts and scared plenty of commodores and boi do they love to rev!!!!!!

As for the 7M sure it was a little toey, but that didnt outway the embarassment of having steam pissin out of my bonnet on many occasions

ahh its all just a bit of fun bro dun stress.

As fo yo 7M i still reckon just give her a flush and drive it as is. Its certainly quicker than standard and i would be very surprised if it didnt put out closer to 240hp or more on the dyno.

flush wont help for a shit matty, it was pulled down today, and you already know what happened.

yeah man i knew gasket was obvioulsy blown, but those sniffers pick up even the slightest of gas in the rad, ive seen blown headgasket cars go on for months with no dramas at all. All i was thinkin was flush the system and if she doesnt boil over just keep her goin till ya ready for 1J goodness. Lets face it bro that rad woz chokaz full o crud. That would struggle to keep a 4k cool.

Anyway dude no probs if ya gettin it done thats cool, make sure you have the rad flushed before ya even start it with new head and gasket or whatever and flush the block also.
Ohh and please do it properly, eg, metal or copper gasket or you will just be doing it again later.

see thats the thing though Matty, the car wouldnt have ran at all, even if i had flushed for years, you dont get what im trying to say, the head was so badly corroded, there wasnt any path for the water to go through, everything is completely gone, the galleries for the water are just gone....

Ive spoken to the mechanic, and hes worked on 7M's before, and he says theres a gasket avaliable thats somewhere between MHG (not avaliable in my time frame) and stock (some people say too weak) so i think ill modify the 7M up for a year or two now.

either way, it will be back for both dyno and drag days, and it will be made to work its titties off.

and matty, 240 rwhp? not a chance, it doesnt feel at all like it.

I'm going to be slightly less pessimistic than you EldarO, and guesstimate that your stock p00 + exhaust, at about stock boost, will lay down around 185-190HP.

stock boost guage maxes out at 6.7 psi (350 mm/hg) so i already know its not running stock.

I guess today is neither mattys, nor my day :/

Interesting. You should get yourself a boost gauge to show what boost level it was running when it spat the dummy.

    Why not Mattys?

ill let matty shed some light on that one.

Boost guage was going to be bought today, right before i gor news that i have to spend $2.5k on what previously was a dud motor.

i know im not running stock, or i assume so, thinking logically, why would toyota make a guage that maxes out stock?

    Fair enough.

Bugger. What one were you planning on getting?

Assuming the factory gauge is working correctly, your logic is sound.

shop called JShop currently has the cheapest prices ive ever seen, anywhere, they are based in welshpool i think.

having a special on turbo timers and boost guages $40 a peice, nothing fancy, does the job though.
