205 is a bit wide on the front for your car. I have 205's on my RA23 and they occasionally scrape, and they have wider guards than a TA22. Either get your guards lipped/rolled/flared or go back to 195 or 185's. 205 should be fine on the back though.
I am looking at purchasing some new wheels for my old girl. I currently have a set of 14 x7 mags that came with the car and have 205 x 60 simex on them. Not sure of the offset. I would like to stay with the same tread width but these rub. So can somebody please help with some info on offsets etc so I can keep the tread width and avoid the rubbingor recommend the width I can go to without the hassles.

Mate go 195/60/14 thats what Iam after.
I just ordered some 15x8" -9J offset rims for my TA22. There's going to to be some body work required to get them under the front guards.
205 isn't that wide, some -neg camber could fix your problems or a diferent offset wheel. are they scrubbing the inside of the guards or the out lip?

I think your offset is a bit bunky. My second RA40, and my RA23 had 14*6 rims with 215/65/14s all round, and only ever rubbed slightly on the inside during full lock. My third RA40 however has a set of 14*6s with somewhere around 0 offset (came from a TA22) and a set of 195/70/14s and the outsides scrub on the guards (did till I folded the lips). So, your offset could be a problem. Also, 195s should be plenty on a TA22, with 7" rims a touch much. I would suggest 195/65/14 tyres, good size for a TA22, and worked great on the front of my RA23. These sit nicely on 14*6 or 14*5.5 rims.

Hi all wiseones of toyota,
Thanks to all for the info.
I'll be surveying the options when they arrive, see if guard rolling will be enough, if not cut the guards an bolt on some flairs.Originally Posted by TA22 GT

Jordan no chance (not even remotely) without flares
you would need about 1 +10 offset to fit them
i have a pair of 7" wide simmons with a 0 offset that needed rolled guards
also they will be a pita to turn make sure you have a good steering box and all the steering arms and stuff are good
