No point in doing a 1uz manifold as there are bolt on cast alloy ones being made as we speak in sydney. First one has been cast and the pattern is just being change a little for the final casting.

It's generally a very good idea to have the inlet port and inlet manfiold being the same size though.

I have had numerous things extrude honed by Andrew Sanders at Specialised Power Porting(0353301123). First off, don't worry about increasing the size of the port to head face. It barely changes it. Largely, the abrasive paste takes material off the points of most restriction first, and these will almost always wear though the whole wall before you started to get close to enlarging the entry or exit sizes.

Secondly, we have made good gains on every application I've ever done it on. Andrew can happily give you some back to back results, and after dealing with him for 3-4 years, I can vouge for the fact you can take anything he says as truth and fact, not marketing hype, he's a top bloke and a pleasure to deal with. The question about intake flows, it mustn't have been done by Andrew, as he provides before and after figures for each individual port, and he tries to port each one up to the same flow as all the rest, so you get even airflow disribution. My 1G manifold flows within 3-5cfm from end to end and has deflector plates fitted inside as well. FLow also increased from 275fcm to 310cfm@28".

Turbo compressor covers are largely modfied by hand then extrude hones to finish off the surface finish and get to arears you can't with hand tools. The cover is a very good thing to do, and I personally seen 28rwhp from doing this mod.

Give him a call, and tell him I sent you, you might get a discount Oh, and Justen, he's done a few 1UZ's, and will be doing mine

Do you know if they can do steam pipe turbo manifolds?

I've been trying to find someone to do mine but the places in Syd wont touch steam pipe.

I've not seen it in Zoom, but I read about motorbike guys using epoxy to reduce intake port cross-section a few years ago in racing classes which didn't allow removal of material from the heads for porting.

Sounds like the Zoom article might be worth a read though. Do you know what the issue and page number is stradlater?

Thanx 6Boost, good to hear some more 1st hand experience. A misunderstood process by many (me included) so no surprise a wide variety of views Great to hear the runner outlet size won't increase as that was my biggest concern.

Now down to price. I wonder if i can get one done before the dyno day on the 21st?
