You can get RCI (Racer's Choice Industries) brand helmets from Rocket for around $160-ish, I got mine from there a few months ago. All approved and everything, they're a quality helmet, just without the inflated price tag. I wore it at Wakefield in December and it was excellent.

The more expensive helmets more comfortable but so long as they're approved they'll protect your noggin.

Merudo, I'm near Manly so if you could get to my place on Thursday early evening you can catch a ride down with me but my car will be full of wheels & crap so I wouldn't have room for a BBQ sorry. Or if you wanted to drive we'll all be meeting up somewhere on the Thursday night to cruise down.

    1. Surge tank. I get bad fuel surge when it's below half tank.
    2. Accusump. Oil pressure warning flashes a bit when braking over those bumps at the end of the back straight (and also when exiting turn 2 at Phillip Island).
    3. Dial out some of the neg camber at the rear to stop chewing tyres out
    4. Mount the video camera for some in car footage

    1. Fluid change (engine, gearbox & diff).
    2. Fit Tein strut tops for much needed more neg camber.
    3. Wheel alignment.
    4. Replace worn Noltec rear trailing arm bushes (things only lasted 10,000km or so).
    5. Cold air box if I find the time. - after some recent tuning i was surprised to see the air temp so high. About 15 deg above ambient.

10,000km's? all those hard launches and cornering you are doing in it!

how much of a difference would u expect the CAI to make? obviously a lower temp is better before the cooler cause it means it has to do less work

    My list:

    1. Finish front brake conversion.
    2. Change fluids.
    3. Oil pressure gauge purchase and fitment.
    4. Oil cooler and remote filter setup purchase and fitment.
    5. Stare at my ghey adjustable camber tops and dream of more neg camber

Cold air box was a great improvement on my car, takes it from that doughy feeling on hot days to what it was like on a cool day pre air box. Cold days got even better. Inlet temps are only a couple of degrees above ambient since fitment.

Same as what I was planning to get I think, are you going for the mid sized setup (the one they call the 250hp package??)

I just had a look at Summit racing and then had a look at VPW, the prices seem comparable and VPW appears to be much cheaper than anyone else in Aus online. Any reason why people go through summit instead of VPW??

Why is it limited to 25??

is this just a open track day but with toymods having there own run group?

Ive done supersprints there with like 150 cars so its not a limit for the track

SO why doesnt toymods get enough people and hire the whole track for the day, or maybe combine
with another club or two if we need biger numbers, seems plenty of interest

prices have gone up, I was down there today embarrassing some WRX and skyline owners
with this old bmw we take down for a thrash now and then (not my race car)
looks shocking it was a freebie bit of rust but gutted and all my go-fast bm parts
i had lying around big cam tripple webbers etc makes it good for low 1:13's high 1:12's

its hillarious.... most fun you can have with your pants on

my mate had to renew his licence they have gone up to $50 and open day entry is now $100

I would have come down for sure had i known earlier, could have brung any of: above said bm, my road bm with the 1gg, or race bm with the 1j

Garth knows one of the guys who does the booking and we just make up the numbers. There aren't sessions as such with this size group so we just get out and the cars pretty much rotate without worrying about who's been out for too long. Works well and everyone gets heaps of track time.

    It's a really relaxed day.
