there will be two other ta22 toyotas there on the 17th with the renew club, hope to see you thereOriginally Posted by TurboRA28
Yeah, this is a private day so we just book the track, decide on a limit of cars and divide the costs up. The numbers work pretty well
I am also looking into organising one for just toymodders based on the interest i've had for this one, we'll see how things pan out. There will be a couple more of these days with my mates coming up soon after this one; i think the next is around june 6th, or 1st? We always do them on the friday, so whatever that is.
My to do list currently stands at;
CAMS licence renewal
Get tyres fitted, balanced and wheel alignment done
Rego and insurance
Check suspension noises (slight occasional knocking, something sounds a little loose after eastern creek)
Check pads and discs
Change fluids – gearbox, bleed brakes, check coolant, maybe oil and filter?
Would also like to have harness bar/rear brace made and mounted so i can install my harness, and ideally would like to have a bucket seat to use with the harness, but realistically won't be too disappointed if i don't get it done - there is only 2 weekends left!
Oh, and nathan, not sure if i saw it and told you before i went away, but your money cleared ok

As I won't be bringing a "support car" this time and I will be bringing a few tools, odds and ends etc will there be somewhere to dump all that stuff that isn't out in the open while on the track??
I assume a few others might be in a similar situation?

If you are there early you can hire a garage in the main pit area, or just use one of the garages in the support area. The guys on these days are OK. I had my entire interior, tools, wheels etc lying in the open (one of the small support garages) last time and everything was still there when I put it back in at the end.
^^ what he said, i haven't had an issue yet
also maybe a bit of a favour to ask...does anyone have room for 4 rims in their car to bring down from sydney (i think they will have tyres on them)? 15x6.5 or something...superlites (not for the GT4)
Cheers
Nathan

Hey Garth, talking of Harnesses.. I've been looking around for one.
When I had the harness bar installed, I had two options.. 1 leaving it just a bar, and they said there is a harness that loops around the bar to secure it.
The other option was to have tags with eye bolts welded to it to mount the harness to.
I went with the first option, sounded easy and neat. But i cant seem to find any of these harnesses that just loop over the bar.
In your travels have you seen such a thing?
Cool, sounds like my crap will be fine in the sheds then
Some T3 RCAs arrived in my letterbox yesterday so I will fit them and book the rolla in for a wheel alignment
Oil cooler isn't going to happen before the day, I don't think it will be an issue though.
Looking forward to it big time! Haven't driven my car in nearly a month now so I'm pretty keen, even the drive to the track will be enjoyable because I'll be heading in the opposite direction to work

can't wait.. so close. but then again i've got to get off my ass and get everythign done to the car before the day. after taking the car for a bit of a run last night i think i'm going to invst in some new front pads... the greenstuff's aren't feeling to crash hot. I'll check them out this weekend if i get the chance.
anyone got some recommendations for pads? i've heard some good things about the ferodo 2500's from memory.

All harnesses I've seen loop through the plate that clips or bolts to the car - why not undo it from the plate and then loop it around the bar?Originally Posted by TurboRA28
Finney, I use DS2500's in my Soarer and they're awesome. Pulls up my barge no worries
I'm out for the 9th though - had some issues at Phillip Island on the weekend. Long story short I lost power steering after about 6 or 7 laps into the first session. It was about 38 degrees and I thought it sucked in air after blowing most of the fluid out the top of the reservoir. Pump was making a god-aweful noise so swapped the pump after driving back to melbourne to get one and on Sunday I made it about 2 km from the cabin before it blew the fluid out the pressure relief valve so the system must be blocked. Got a lift back to Melbourne to get a mate's Range Rover and car trailer then back to PI again to tow it to Melbourne.
I'm going back the weekend before Wakefield to pick it up but I won't be taking it to the track again until I fit a big PS cooler as the stock one is tiny.
damn sucks to hear dude.. was really looking forward to seeing your car out there again and possibly seeing if there was a chance of getting a ride in it aswell

It was a very tiring weekend but it could have been worse. Plenty of more trackdays this year - got my eye on Eastern Creek for Anzac day too.
