nissan? S13/14 struts?
Please! Someone save me from insanity - I have searched these forums and others for the past 3 hours.. I had all the information once upon a time and cannot find it again..
I have an AE71 - Im using the G Series rear end (1410mm + 5x114.3) live axel.
I need to find a suitable matching front brake upgrade that also grants me 5x114.3 stud pattern. ( or was there a way to to convert the *n40 diff to 4x114.3???)
ANYTHING - point me in the right direction.
*blank*
*A60 Struts etc ??
nissan? S13/14 struts?

I was under the impression that all s13 / 14 hubs were (4)x114.3
at least the ones in conversions on this forum.
i used gx81 struts converted to coilover and lower arms with the tension rod holes redrilled to suit ae86 tension rods the arms are five mill longer than ae86 ones so camber plates help with r32 gtr disc's and calipers will get some pics up soon
Also MX83 struts (aka Norbie's suspension conversion) with BA disks & R33 calipers.
or MS65 hubs would give you 5-stud hubs and your choice of strut then determines the braking package.
The former requiring lots of work, the later being difficult to find (but PM d-master as he has a set of MS65 hubs available now).
So can anyone prove or disprove that an S14 suspension / brake assembly will fit ?
i've heard talks of fc3s brake upgrades, 5 x 114.3
Sa22c Series 1 rx7, 12a extend port, 900rwkw @ 93,320 rpm sold
Ra65 celica hatch, 22re with 2.25" exhaust, 500Nm @ 27rpm sold
Ae86, 4agze, 170Takumi Powers @ 11,000 rpm
yes. stock S13's have 4 studs, but R32 hubs and brakes fit straight up, and they are 5x114.3. this is pretty much what ive started doing for my corolla.
i think S15's are 5 stud anyways??
So the r32 calipers dont need a custom mount ?
Assuming your using the r32 disc's as well ?
s13 strut + r32 hub, disc, calipers = ?
best news i've heard all day...
If this is correct - then following the s13 -> ae86 guide will fill in the blanks no doubt
you wil need to convert your whole suspension to s13. and then use s14 or s15 hubs and brakes, this is what people are suggesting, not just using the 13 hubs, they wont fit. t might be possible with some tricky machining but not worth it. if you do this youll need custom caliper brackets too.
this is sorta worth it though cos KE struts are impossible to get good inserts for.
youll need basically a whole s13 front end. or laurel or cefiro.
32 hubs wont work, but you can use the disc and rotor and re drill the stock s13 hub to 5 stud.
or buy brand new 5 stub hubs, places like justjap have them, non genuine i think but still exxy.
mx83 will be the easiest option, but you will need to run a longer control arm and youll have to use the mx steering knuckle arm too.. which will probably be longer(than a ke 1) and therefore you will have less lock.
you can retain you stock lca and have a custom offset RCA made which is the right bolt hole spacing for the mx strut and the ke steering arm.
p.s
this is a ridiculous amount of work/money just to match you diff, you should get your diff changed to 4x114 it can be done.
also.. wheels will be hard to get to suit in both style and size/offset in 5 stud
Or as it now seems, s13 strut and s14 hub, disc, and caliper...
can someone please confirm this with first hand experience?
thanks!
cheapest way depending on your hook ups is s13 everything hub and disc re drilled to 5 stud.
we've done it.
Thanks Dimitri,
I thought there was a way to convert the *n40 hilux / hiace (g series) rear end to 4x114.3...
They are drum brake if im not mistaken ??
yeah they are.
the drums are huge too i am not sure youd fit a 14" wheel over them.
the write up i read where they changed the lux diff from 5 to 4 he also converted to dics brakes using 31 skyline hardware (which are 4x114)
it is jeremy (ae86slut). think its in an issue of drift battle.
I've pm'd jeremy -
wheels arnt the issue... it just has to be done properly.
I would still like to confirm that s13 struts + s14 hubs, discs, and calipers all bolt together without any issues...
