Default replacing the inside window trim on an RA40

Has anyone worked out a place or item to get a replacement of the felt window guide that goes along the length of the inside trim of the door.
I tried Rare Spares today but they can only get ta22 ones and even then they will cost the better part of 70 dollars a side.
Has anyone managed to get theirs replaced with a new strip, i am not too worried about the chrome bit as that looks a bit dated anyway and if a piece of plastic could be sourced instead i believe it would look neater.
Is there a place where you can buy the stuff in lengths and cut to your desired width?
the wreckers don't seem the go either as all tthe models i have seen the felt has been worn away or the rubber strip that pushes against the glass has cracked and become brittle.
surely someone has replaced theirs, anyone???

    hmm ,

still not sure what bit your talking about... is it the weather strip or the on the door card??

if your talking about the weather strip then no, i havent replaced mine.
i chose cure rather than prevention, i got some tectyl rust preventative wax stuff and used 1/2 a can per side inside the doors so the water can happily run over that instead of rusting the metal.

so yeh - NFI where to get them from. tried genuine i take it?

mine arent to bad....out of the 5 RA40's ive owned in the past 2 yrs, ive picked the best bits for the blue one

    curse my lack of camera....
where you put your arm, there is a small metal chrome bit that runs the length of the window.
Attached to this 60 cm odd piece is felt that the window touches up against. mainly to stop rattles and drafts i guess (there is a siila piece on the outside but it is made of rubber but those are alright on my car it is just the insides that are kerstuffled).
I was in a magna the other day and thought i could adapt their felt like thing but it would be too short.
I thought that by making this request public someone MUST have replaced their little felt runners or found a supplier of a generic style runner that could work and know where to steer me in the right direction.
I even tried an auto upholsterer
cheers anyway for the help Brett.
    anyone else
