Default ST162 Starter Motor Wiring Issue

    Hey,

Me and a mate just finished swapping in a SV21 gearbox into his ST162 because his sync's were stuffed. But now it wont start.
We get power to everything (incl fuel pump) bar the starter motor. All the wiring is connected as it was before hand except for this loose spade connector you can see in the picture circled in purple.
This is connected to a relay which is somehow managed into the starter motor circuit. Its an aftermarket relay job and i hazard a guess it's probably for an imboliser?
It's certainly different to my starter motor wiring on my 7M. And its stupid becuase the engine wont start. So the aim of the game is to start to motor. I've tried bypassing the relay but that didn't work either.
Here is the picture of the engine and wiring.

And a picture of how its wired up.

If someone could help me figure this wiring mess out and be so gracious as to tell me how to wire this thing properly so i can start the engine, i'd be ever so grateful!

    Cheers
    Sam

I'd say it's extremely likely the spade connector should go to 86.

The relay has been put there to boost power to the starter, the spade connector should be coming from the ignition barrel.

If you're unsure put a multimeter on it and turn the key, it will most likely get 12v when you do this.

    it should be

    30 battery
    85 earth
86 the original wire that went to the start terminal on the starter
    87 output to the starter

So me mate tells me today he got it fixed Christmas day! His uncle fixed it apparently, said it was a faulty/dodgy ignition switch. Shorted that 86 wire to the + terminal and it started i think he said. Said wire has now found a proper home. Anyways thanks for the help guys!
