3SGE/3SGTE isnt a stupid idea though.. might be a little costly but not as costly as most would expect.

At least you're not like this stupid tool I saw on some other forum that wanted to convert their EP91 into 4WD and put a F20C in it.... PFFFFT! School Holidays again?

I'd take a stab to say the 2ZZ would fit.

They fit in an AW11 with one custom mount seeing how they still use the C series based box.

If I'm not mistaken the EP also uses a C series box, so as long as the length of the motor from the bellhousing face will clear the chassis rail, it wont be too hard to fit.

If you can get your hands on a JDM or US ECU, it also gets around the factory immobiliser problem. Another option is powerfc.

You may have subframe/steering rack clearance issues with the exhaust on the firewall side of the engine.

beams was in altezza, ST200 celica and SW20 mr2.

the celica would be the obvious choice, the only choice, because your gonna need celica bits anyway.

i think the beams is a waste of money (personal opinion, dont get agro) as its a high compression, high revving engine, im sure you can do the same with any other motor, this just requires less work to the engine internally.

starlets are small cars, and only fit smaller engines (easily) so, at a guess, i take it the the 3s is going to be a tight fit, the 2ZZ is near impossible (you can do anything with money though).

if you want to keep it NA, whack in a 20 valve blacktop or silver top, or turbo/supercharge a 4AGZE 16v.

the above is my personal opinion, i know you wont agree, dont start a war about it!

All good points Eldar0, Im not disagreeing with anyone, just taking pointers. I guess the fist thing to accomplish is measure the engine and compare with the size of the engine bay, and go from there, want it an NA 100% tho, no turbs or sc etc

Actually, if you want to get technical, any Toyota engine with VVTI is a BEAMS engine.
Hence the 2ZZ is also BEAMS

i have a wrecked Sera here, with a high-compression 5E-FHE, with 90 something thousand on it, running perfectly after the crash. you could take it, do some crazy headwork, drop it right to your E series mounts, and off you go! it was pretty zippy even in the rather heavy automatic sera.

$1000, just take the car away with it! 0439 919 890 if your interested

Maybe, but it doesn't have it written on the plastic cover on the top of the engine, like the 3SGE's do ->
