yes but its more obvious that theres an aftermarket ecu then injectors/turbos.
Car would have to run std injectors to pass engineering, and depending on the year the car was built in, would have to run std turbos to.Originally Posted by cuzzo

im sure a big single on a custom exhaust manifold looks along way from stock in comparison to an ecu the cop cant even see![]()

I made 170 rwkw with the stockers now ive got a set to TD04-9bs strapped in there with a custom dump pipe so im hoping for a little more. The stockers were leaking oil even on the turbo intake to I needed to replace them anyway. Love ke70 has got the money, I cant justify spending any more money on the car. Where do you draw the line? I think that 7mgte injectors not working have decided for me where to stop. I just want a fun all round car. I has happy with 170rwkw, you can just about kill anything out on the street with a light car like a corona.

All depends on what your AFR's are at making that power.
Have you considered running 4agze injectors in your 1g, been a while since i was playing with 1ggte injectors but from what i remember they slotted straight in, run higher flow rates than 1g injectors but no where near as high as 7m injectors, and give the correct imp for the ecu (cant remember if it was suited for gen 1/2 or gen 3) An aftermarket interceptor style ecu should be able to control the injectors in conjunction with the stock item as i believe they are only 305cc or something there abouts.
GZE ones are 365cc and 7mgte 440cc
Arent 1ggte injectors high impedance but 7mgte ones are low impedance.
Appart from over fuelling, maybe thats another reason why it wasnt idleing.
Those are the specs im looking forOriginally Posted by cuzzo
yes your correct about the 1g injectors, but thats in gen 3 model ecus, gen 1 and 2 run low imp injectors and seeing as the 7m squiters run in that car i can assume he has one of those two varient motors, and im pretty certian that the 4agze items are the low imp aswell
Your problem is as everyone has mentioned - the stock ECU is giving too much PWM% for the bigger 7M injectors.
Piggy back ECU's arent much chop here, because the only way they can REDUCE fuel is to reduce the voltage signal from the engine load sensors (ie. AFM or MAP sensor), which also changes your ignition timing and other things.....
...... butt scratcher?!
i dont get the need for the 7m injectors anyway, stock ecu cant handle the extra boost you would need to make use of the 7m injectors yes?

Ill see how she goes on the dyno with the new turbos and back to the stock injectors. Im not too interested in going aftermarket ecu just for a little bit more power. The reason for going intstalling the 7mgte injectors in the first place is that I am hoping for around the 200rwkw area and I thought the stockers wernt up for the task. Ill guess we will find out soon.

Good luck mate, make sure you post you the dyno graph for all to see!
