The bearing designation for 80 OD 50 ID and 20 MM width to fit the IRS LSD or later model solid axle LSD is a 32010. When I did mine the bearing man gave me bearings with a couple of extra letters at the end of the number which meant there was a bigger radius on the inside where it fits on to the LSD

Found the receipt, same as madmount - 32010 bearings.
For the pinion it was a 30306 and a 32307.

As for noise - i set up the centre in my garage using only basic equipment so it is was never going to be perfect.
A slight whine is there, its only evident between 75 and 85 under medium load and has not become worse. This doesn't bother me anyway, as its only really evident when cruising up hills.

But if it decides to pack up at some stage, i'll be using a truetrack and a new set of gears.
Feel free to add to the other thread, the more info the better.

    Cheers
    -Phil

    hey guys,

ive finally pulled my finger put as the calliper brackets are on the way from gianttomato for the disc conversion.

pure insanity im not quite sure why you needed 3 diff types of bearings

my understanding is that i will need 32010 to fit the lsd centre in the housing around the axle

is it that u used the 30306 and 32307 bearing for the pinion cos you bought the ratio and then fitted the lsd, cos if thats the case i have the ratio from the open wheeler centre and i will only need the 32010 hey?

Yep, to fit the the crownwheel you just need a pair of 32010 bearings.
I had to pull my pinion out anyway, so i replaced those bearings as well.

i purchased an ma70 auto 3:7 lsd to fit into my hilux which had a 4:3 lsd. the bearings like you say are bigger in the ma70 version (i allways thought commercial ftw?) so i got the diff shop to unbolt the crown wheel off the ma70 vers and put it onto the hilux vers. that solved that, next prob was the ma70 pinion has a much larger bearing. so the bearing off the hilux centre was swapped onto ma70 pinion.
to get the shop to do all this and make the best lsd out of both and set it all up properly cost $400. but now its mint. def worth paying someone to set your diff up properly of you WILL fuck things if you dont know exactly what your doing.

diff is complete now, i will do a write up when i get time

    for now, in a nutshell

if you go from lsd in open wheeler you need the bearings

if you go supra g series into hilux g series you need a spacer

when i do the write up i let you know how to tell th difference and exactly what soacer you need

    cheers

props to you guys +rep all round where i can give it

Dude, well travelled road. I posted this ages ago, Phil did a nice thread with pics. All here in tech and conversions.

Well done for making it happen.

Do you have the correct pinion bearing? There are at least 4 different ones.

Still not entirely clear what is fouling. Maybe explain yourself a little better - a labeled pic clearly outlining the problem would be very helpful.
they are entirely different! mine cost $550 to set up.

I know and it's been posted here and on the old forums a billion times. No exaggeration. There's even a picture thread.

The reasons why i want to add to the thread is not because it has't been posted a thousand times but wrather some of it is a bit unclear. For those who dont even know whether they will or wont need a spacer im going to make it clear with diagrams exactly how to measure the offset. Also a few tricks i learnt along the way, like mixing oil with concrete colour die and painting it on the teeth so you can mesh the gears properly and how to get that 10-12 thousandth clearance down to perfection. Noisy diff, never using this method!

    Thanks again

it cost me nothing and the old guy showed me exactly how to do it like a pro

he sets up drift cars over here, does a lot of custom and "beefing up" kinda jobs. when i first got there we got chatting about why i was putting such a big diff in the celica, he told me he was impressed that i was doing majority of the work by myself. He asked me a heap of q's about toyota's and what makes and yrs had what diffs and which ones had factory lsd's, brakes etc etc. i gave him a pretty good write up and in return not only did he put it together but he showed me how to do it, right down to the spring setting

i know where i'l be going when i brake it

You cant beat learning off the oldies. They were taught the propper ways , No amount of money would pay for the knowledge i have attained from my old mechanic friend of 22 years .
