    agree! This happened to mine.
They got in, started it, reversed it out and started to drive off when it cut out. The short arse prick [must have been a school kid] left it still in the car park with the door open and the ignition on and a flattened battery.
there are days when you wish you'd catch some little fu(k in the seat

when i was younger the ABC had a show called 'the inventors'. some guy had a HK monaro which he'd wired up a transformer to the seat springs so that if you turned the key without disarming it first it gave you a jolt up the arse - like a taser it temporarily immobilised the would be thief [and probably made them lose bladder control too ]. Pity this is illegal now.
    1. There's no point arguing with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
    2. Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference

Ain't no insurance going to give you enough cash to replace a modded car - let alone pay back the luv [aka blood, sweat and tears].

lol car alams are a piece of cake to jimmy, but then again i do allot of work in security so i know the ins and outs of disableing a decent system.

Step 1 - Jimmy open the hood and make sure to remove the god damn siren battery befor you start ripping shit out.
i'll give you the rest later lol

her just had an idea why dont u just replace the standard siren with a heavy duty screamer and replace the standard siren box with something more heavy duuty. Maybe even stick a screamer in the cabin it self. They put out 105 db so i doubt a crim would be staying near your car for to long if he did manage to get in it

the reason why this wouldnt be easy bypassed like a normal alarm is that it would be tottaly independant. While just about every alarm can be bypassed by bridging the two relays under the steering coloum my idea would have a hidden switch, 2 relays in the engine bay and tap off the power. So therefore it would hard to track what is causing it. Either way I think I will still have a kill switch that cuts the fuel.

If your system relies on a hidden switch, why not just do a better job of hidding the alarm?
Why always put it in the same most obvious spot, thats what makes them so easy to bypass. Cant find it, cand bypass it.

any alarm that is customised and different is a big improvement over that standard i think.
its is a top idea to make your own way of disabling the car/fooling the crims because they will not be able to learn about it from practice.

tricking them to think that your car is rooted is a great idea.

i am going to use the piezo scremer idea, mounting the screamers inside the cabin with a backup battery (maybe hidden in the a/c ducting so it acs like a resonator/speaker enclosure) so you will get burst eardrums if you stay inside.

also for anyone else goign the screamer idea, DO NOT buy the kits from jaycar etc.

my mate got one of those kits and after he built it and wired it up it wasnt loud at all! he went back to jaycar to complain and they said "we can't make them too loud because it might damage someones hearing and we would get sued"!!!

just get the loudest piezo you can find, i reckon 120dB or greater should be ok...?

I went to jaycar with the screamer idea and they hadn't heard of it, he just recomended high volume smoke alarm type speakers. Even a quick burst in the store was enough to leave ringing in my ears. Any thougths on those? Is that what your mate used Placentajuan?

    Hi,

If you want to get real fancy you can put in a few Xenon flashers, so not only will the car be terribly loud on the inside, but it will also flash like a disco. May not be too useful in daylight, but it's gonna stand out at night.

If you want the general public or police to act immediately to someone stealing your car then don't waste your time with sirens and crap, simply fit a small smoke machine under each guard of the driven wheels and an external 120dB recording of a howling skid. Have all three devices set to activate when the car is broken into.

We all know that burnouts get a much quicker response from the public and police than almost any other illegal activity

It's an interesting idea, though I think a homemade killswitch/immobiliser that cuts power to something important in a somewhat convoluted way is a better idea.

You know how tricky it is tracing wiring and getting things right when you're doing a conversion in your own sweet time. Imagine trying to trace someone else's loomed wiring at night while trying to steal their car in a hurry. It's not going to happen.
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.

As Hen said you can get quite tricky and create a time consuming deterrent for most would be thieves by simple use of a couple of strategically placed kill switches in conjunction with an alarm.

When getting the switches and placing them try to think outside the square A rocket launcher/rocker switch on the dash or around the steering column are not good choices.

Think beyond the ignition system too when thinking of ways to immobilise a car.
