    Default 2jz water pump help

    hi folks

the 2jzge water pump is leaking like a champion an appears to be fubar.

i can get a 2jzge or 2jzgte pump for it, but they are different part numbers according to my toyota spare parts man.

this is on my 1.5jz, what are the differences in the pumps, mr toyota cant tell me.

    any help is appreciated

    thanks

2JZ-GTE pump is compatible with any 1JZ-GTE or 2JZ-GTE, but not the GE engines. Conversely, the 2JZ-GE pump works with the GE engines but not the GTE engines. I can't fully remember the differences between the pumps, but I did once try to put a GE pump on my GTE and there was no way it was going to work.

Not sure what happens what you have a 1.5JZ, but if your old pump was from a GE, your new pump will need to be from a GE as well.

1JZ and 2JZ share the same pump, check out the recent thread about water pump rattling, as I just changed my pump lately. 2JZ-GE doesn't fit apparently (but you are using one???).

    *reads the question again*

What bottom end are you using with your 1.5JZ? 2JZGTE or 2JZGE? The pump would probably match whatever bottom end you are using.

I think they all fit but the GTE ones have the water inlet on the rear housing for the front turbo, if u split the pumps apart the front parts are all the same

This was certainly not the case when I compared an Aristo pump (hydraulic fan) with a NA Supra pump (clutch fan).

    havent touched the car

other than taking the turbo off, selling it then finding out of the new owner that about 10 to 15mm of the rear wheel was missing of each blade.

    no wonder it was laggy.

    so norbie

as i am running this on a 1.5jz, ie 1j head, the 2jzgte pump would be fine.

would the difference be where the radiator hose comes off it and the line for a turbo feed?
