Well there are two testimonials here saying oil changes fixed this prob ... depends what
the prob really is inside the box i guess.
1ggte f series diff - suspension is the plans Dori ... motor should be in by end of JAN
The ball bearing & spring that push on the shift fork shaft's notch are there for positioning the shift fork, but don't 'hold it in gear' at all. That's really the teeth/dogs on 2nd gear and/or the teeth on its syncro hub job Yours are worn and have a slight taper that'll push it out of gear when loaded.
I'd be fucking amazed if different oil did anything, and would sure like to know why!
Most are cut straight, and some are even undercut with a reverse taper
that will make it very difficult to pull out of gear when there is any load at all on it.
Try pulling it out of gear without using the clutch when lightly cruising and when accelerating/decellerating & feel the difference.

Take the center console and shifter out and fill the gearbox via the shifter hole (measure the correct amount of fluid).
Unless you really want to remove the gearbox? lol
Cheers

Or get a spare filler plug from a wrecker/your spare box/any bolt that fits, then remove rooted filler plug with vice grips. Fill box and then fit new, good plug.
And then stop endorsing street drift.
Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
WILBO cheers that would save me a headache any ideas on how much fluid a W55 takes?
