    Default 20V Conversion Questions

    Hi All,

    I'm currently fitting a 4age 20V Silertop into my AE82 Twin Cam, The engine, gearbox driveshafts, exhaust etc etc have all been fitted.

    I just have a few questions regarding wiring, I have already completed a couple of searches but nothing really comes up with what I need.

    I'm after a wiring diagram for the two plugs that are next to the ECU plugs. I know that they are connected to the AE101's body loom but as I didn't get the dash in my half cut I am unable to trace them to where they are meant to go.

    Does anyone have any body loom diagrams for a Jap AE101 ?
    Or any information regarding these two plugs ?

    Also has anyone found it easier to wire in the whole AE101 fuse box etc rather than connecting the engine wires etc to the old AE82 fuse box.

    I am competent with wiring etc so with a little help from fellow toymods members I should be able to have my little beast up and running in no time.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    you can use either fusebox really, i've done it both ways in the past.

    Those two body loom plugs (grey and black) and very easily traced back through the loom to work out what they are, so spend some time with a multimeter and a notepad - there is no better way of learning!
    ... that's what i've done in the past, and now i just refer to my notes.

    Thanks Witzl,

    Was hoping not to have to untape every single bit of loom but if that's the only way i'm going to find out what all the wires are then that's what i'll do.

    Did you find it easier to wire in the old headlight wires etc into the AE101 fuse box or it easier to wire in the AE101 engine wires into the old fusebox.

    Yah I paid AK about $400 to do mine. Looks Stock.

    i'd say i can do it too, but im time strapped at the moment.

    I found it easier to use the stock fuse box and add the EFI main relay (if not already there), just need a bit of grafting and thought put into it.

    Personally, I know its great to learn and take on the project yourself, but i chose to just get sideshow to wire mine and he did an awesome job. Saved me the time and hassle. And EVERYTHING worked!!

    yeah it's not hard to wire them up properly, but so many people don't! Sideshow would agree.... its phenominal how many people cut corners cos they cant be bothered figuring out what something does.

    My first 20v i spent a solid 2-3 all nighters working out the wiring in full and documenting all of it for future reference. Just ask Finney.... that was his 20V
