MX32...
Lightest toyota to come with a 6cyl.
Cheers
Wilbo
Ok im after an old toyota to turn into a proper drag car, non street registered and dedicated to strip times. (im having a trip in my ute down to outback nsw soon, and theres plenty of "free" toyotas down there ;') )
can someone reccomend an old toyota which has:
- Leaf rear suspension
- full chasis
- originally a 6cyl, or alternatively a huge engine bay
i have thought of a few but dont knwo if they match above....
Mk 2 corona - mx10, 12, 13, 23 etc
ms65 or before crown - a ms53 wagon is a candidate....
30 series old cressida
anyone think of any others??
thanks
Blake

leaf springs? full chassis?
umm you might want to list a few of the mods you want to do,
like what engine you are going to run?
there is a KE20 on the forums for sale, nice 13BT and it should see you into the 8's or high 7's

1980RIP NATHAN BRETT DEAN2007,
RT104's have leaf spring and have a masive engine bay
JZX83+ FMIC+ Twin 2.5" dumps to 3"+ FCD+ 2800rpm stallie+ 14psi - LSD - good tyres = 12.85 @105.58
The boobs are back
why full chassis?
going to run cage/chute?
fibre-glass replacement panels?
turbo or SC?
just buy a KE70/AE71, they're the most bang for buck light as car, and have a heap of aftermarket support.
Eldar.O.
just thinking,
you are asking for help to find are car and we dont know what times you are looking at running, if you are talking about a 7 sec drag car go full tube chassis or even 3/4 chassis,
talking 9-10 sec there are heaps out the look at 1JZ-747. even some geminis are doing 10s
all depends on what your goal is,

1980RIP NATHAN BRETT DEAN2007,
the mk2 corona doesnt have leaf rear or a full chassis
cressida doesnt have a full chassis
only toyo that will have the 3 things you listed is a aussie crown wagon
and of course these 3 things are vital for a fast drag car
- ma61 + 2jz-gte + v160 + 3.5 torsen
i second the wilbo notion....
....vote 1. M X 3 2 !
There is also a pretty good one for sale at the moment....
(believe me i've been VERY tempted to do this myself, but i dont have any money)
...... butt scratcher?!
One wounders why you want leaf spring :S
And the full chassis = weight....
And come it it will be well unexpected! A fast MX32
Cheers

Only pre-80's Crowns have a full chassis, unless of course you look at stuff like Landcruisers and Hilux's.

and blake does have a hilux ATM ... so instead of the V6 conversion he could go with the what-ever-engine-he-plans-to-go-racing-with conversion?Originally Posted by Norbie

Last full chassis Crown was the 130 series, which ran thru till 1991-2.Originally Posted by Norbie
Hilux would have what you initially listed but wouldn't a multi link rear end be better?
