well, I'd personally go Twin GT35R's, comparing it to the twin turbo Ford GT that made some very nice power figures with 2 of them (and its a 5.4Litre V8)

But i think its bee covered that anything in the GT3X series should just about cover it.

At a pinch, perhaps the new GT40?

Less than what? A Century or an NA 1GZ Supra? Yes it will have less performance than an NA 1GZ Supra, but thats hardly a worthwhile comparisson!

Stock also has lots of restrictions to keep it running smooth. With increase exhaust/inlet flow, an aggressive tune and a MUCH lighter car I am very doubtful it wont be impressive even off boost.

Yes indeedy, a 1GZ is going to have plenty of off-boost response even with lower compression and a pair of large exhaust restrictions. Getting the thing to spool at 2000rpm isn't really that important - actually it would probably turn the car into an uncontrollable wheelspin machine!

and don't forget GOOD wastegates and boost controller for that.. you're going to have to be a little careful how that boost comes on

I'm actually leaning toward twin GT35s - you'll get boost from the low 3000rpms, so below 3000rpm you can maintain drivability with the low down torque of a 5L, and then above 3500 you're in crazy man's land, and can paint black lines all over the place at will.

is it being decompressed or keeping it high compression?

    Fuxed for j00

I wouldnt bother 'decompressing' the engine.... for starters, you have 12 pistons to buy (that's 3 times a 4cylinder!) - thats a lotta dollars even for cast pistons!

I would keep to a more moderate and sensible power target - like around 300-450rwkW (a walk in the park!) - so that you can actually drive the thing. Some sensible turbo selection will easily get you these figures with PLENTY of room to make more, as you have some serious airflow to play with here.

Lets not forget a certain mental case around here has a ~350rwkW rwd 1uz-fte ST185 that runs an 11.7 quater.

Thats pretty quick in my books, and probably about where i would aim with this package.

Decompressed. I'll be having some new conrods and pistons 'forged' up for it... Will be talking to the lads this weekend about what order everything needs to be tackled.

Incidentally, it won't be a drag weapon, or a dyno weapon. Street/lap sprint vehicle is it's purpose.

That said, I want it TT. I don't know if anybody has heard the Maybach Excelero, but that thing just makes me very happy, in an unusual way. A V12 with turbo's will sound tough as well. ^_^

Maybe oneday, if I get my hands on another one (1GZ) I'll put an NA one in a custom chassis. (when I'm older and wiser, and richer).

Any decent aftermarket ECU will have a better boost controll function than a seperate unit. Youre still going Motec arent you Kags??

Should go with a compromised CR and run fairly low boost. Say.......9.5:1??

Dude, i can see at least $6000 in rods and pistons ALONE there.

I've been talking to Tan, and he's going Autech... I'm having second thoughts. Motec is entirely pre-mapped, where as Autech is calculated constantly. I'm just not sure.

I'm keen to stay with Motec, but I also want something that runs smooth. 'rumor' is that Motecs are a bit of a pig on running in street cars... I don't know if that's true at all, but I'm sure when the time comes to knuckle down, I'll make the right choice. It's still one of the last things on the plate.

I think Ben(rewindspline) uses his M600 as a piggy back system and retains the stock ECU for idle control, air con and stuff.

Be interesting how many ECUs you end up having. (All 3 1GZ ECUs and Motec/autronic for the engine and JZA80 ECU for the body controls...thats 5 ECUs all running at once!! )

Won't need all of those. JZA80 'possibly' to run electronics in car, but the engine won't need more then one (Autech, or motec). There's the possibility some of the comfort stuff can run on modules.

So when are you making the 'Stupidly ridiculously crazy fuel system for my TT 1GZ' thread?

fuel will be a walk in the park compared to the decompressed forged internals
