I would recommend welding it. No pics of the one I did sorry.. But once you pull the guts out of the dizzy it becomes quite self explanatory.
Anyone know what is involved with locking a 22re distributer for use with megasquirt? There was something on this around the place but I cant seem to find it.
My understanding is its fine just to disconnect the vacuum advance hoses. To lock the rpm based advance do you actaully have to weld it? Or will some liquid metal do the job? Does anyone have any pictures of how they did it?

ditto - weld is robust as safest way to do it. Yes, remove all manner of vacuum advance.
fwiw: mine is actually screwed together - i just ripped all the the weights and springs out - then drilled new holes obn both sides then used metal self-tapping screws to fix them
Mins is only a temporary measure (e.g. intended to last 1-2 months, will probably stay there 12 months) as i'm going to a 36-1 wheel on the crank pulley.
If you want to come around an gawk at my megasquirted 18R(TE). give me a PM and we'll arrange a meet (am in Kenmore).
Might take you up on that offer actually mate. I am driving down to Brisbane from Townsville for Woodford so I will give you a PM a little bit closer to it when I have dates all worked out.
