    Seriously?
Ever driven a 3.2 & 3.5 Jackaroo back to back?
The Rodeo motor has always been the poorer sister compared to the Jackaroo. Can't have the truck going better than the family SUV now can we.
Plus unlike the Toyota motors, you've got proper twin cam to start with to muck around with cam timing.
Seems to me that unless you can find another Toyota motor with matching bellhousing to the 1UZ that you can make to close to 3.5L, you may as well get a proper twin cam motor (to recover some of that power lost from the capacity decrease) & get a bellhousing adaptor made up.

Is the Ralliart 3.5 a DOHC or the same as an FE Toyota head? All of the other V6 Magnas are SOHC.

    Ralliart is still SOHC.

Well, after some late night discussions in the garage, me, the boys and jim beam decided that the 3MZ will be the way to go. We've run with toyota stuff for ages, know it, like it, trust it.

As the 1UZ is about ready to drop in, a 3MZ will be setup and dropped in at a later stage, at the moment we just want it on track.

3MZ decided upon due to availablilty and cost effectiveness... mind you, less bourbon and we could afford a heaps better engine!
