3MZ for the racecar?

goodyear have release a new line of belts. mainly pitched at the big boys (nascar, lemans etc) and ive been meaning to look into it.... they sound pretty good

They fixed the belt dramas then they started breaking belt tensioners thats why they changed to the 2GR because it has chain driven cams.

Yeah - 2GR would be nice for cl1... and you can buy them as crate motors from toyota as long as you sell your house, car, wife and give them your firstborn, hence the 3mz option - besides, 3mz will bolt straight to our 1uz adaptor.

Destroke is definately doable for <3 grand. It'd end out a massively oversqare block - great for revving it like a hummingbird - but not as good for torque as a 3.5 V6, and torque wins races, esp in offroad...

sorry, I didnt phrase that very well!

3.5ltr V8 isnt as torqey as the 3.5 V6 due to the reduced individual cylinder capacity. I'd rather be using low revs and torque than high revs and HP.

Mind you, I also want the VVT too which is why Im lookin gat the V6...

It's not a toyota but a Nissan VQ35 would fit the bill. 3.5L 206kw, or even holden's new Alloytech 3.5L

Yeah, & its a pushrod motor as well.
Mind you, you can't adjust the individual cam timing on the bigger Toyota motors either.

Um the Alloytec/HFV6 190/195kw is not a pushrod motor thats the ecotec motors.

But yes they are 3.6L, 3.2L versions exist in Alfa's and a few other overseas models.

I'd say the 3MZ heads will flow better than the UZ ones, at least the non VVT UZ so you are ahead of the game there over a de-stroked UZ. Remember the golden rule in engine mods as well, don't try and make an engine what it's not. Destroking would invariably result in some unforssen problem i reckon.

The 3MZ won't bolt to your UZ adaptor...totally different bellhousing pattern on the block. MZ blocks are very similar to 3S bellhousing bolt pattern which unfortunately in not similar to the UZ.

Why the hush hush on the price of a crate GR?....save us the suspense and just post the numbers here.

3MZ and 1UZ have different bolt patterns huh???? bastard. I was told that the 1UZ/1MZ was the same bolt pattern, then again that the 1MZ/3MZ are the same... As for the price of the 2GR - I'll check to make sure Im not going to get anyone into trouble first!

All alloy. Non turbo, up to 221kw depending on what it came from.

Whats the dimensions though aren't they physcially a huge motor look at the bay of a Z32 (with the 3L version) decent sized bay very little space left.

There heaps of 350z's around surely one would pop up at a pickles auction that been reamed in the arse
