Mt Tamborine cruise, Sunday 18 February

Sunday 18 February, Toyota Car Club Qld cruise to Mt Tamborine,

Meeting point: Motorama 4X4XMore, 9am (to departing by 9:15am)

Lunch is either BYO BBQ or Treehouse Cafe.

We'll photoshoot before having lunch - everyone makes their own way home afterwards or finds the no-longer-overheating MR2 club and follows in their footsteps on their afternoon trek around the Gold Coast hinterland.

We'll follow the engine smoke of the MR2 Club as they head up Mt Tamborine for lunch.

BYO BBQ food, chair/shade, camera, UHF radio

This could be pretty funny. I'll be driving with the MR2s to leave the smoke trail, though I'll have to over-richen mine again to produce fuel smoke as its been just right lately, only giving off valve-stem-seal-produced oil smoke.

just change gears frequently... we should be able to track down the oily-valve smell ;-)


edit: i'll be in a ute unless someone wants to ferry me and the bbq - flakey alternator and a tune that's totally crap are not ideal for a trip up the hill.

update: depature time to shift back in time to no later than 9:15am

... so we can catchup with the MR2 boys hopefully at the Movieworld Carpark at about 10-ish.

update 2: i can't make the day.. grr.

after several frustrating hours trying to solve my charge light and general electrical system hassles i'm ripping out all the non-lighting stuff and starting again... so i cant spend the day drving up to Mt Tamborine.

So... best thing if you're still keen on driving up is to:
head off from salisbury at 9:15AM
aim for the M1 motorway (see below for easy instructions)
be at the movieworld carpark no later than 10:10am
follow the MR2s up to Mt Tamborine
have lunch with the boys & girls and then decide which way to head home


how to get from Motorama to the motorway:
go up to bridge
turn around
turn left at lights
go along kessels road
cross freeway at Garden City shoppo
left left at lights
stay in left lanes
at bottom of hill enter freeway
continue southwards until movieworld

have been waiting for a formal OK from the MR2 pres to officially join them - otherwise it was to be a casual affair where we happened to be travelling along the same paths.

have SMSed adam and scott who said (at the meeting) that they were coming along.
