well thats one of the things i spoke to manny about... he basically said it works like a champion, on all the turbo setups hes had on the car.

its got multiple boost presets, its gain adjustable, adjustable obviously by the hand controller (less gizmos), its designed and made just for the power fc and last but not least it comes with its own 3 bar map sensor that the power fc has a map configuration already set and ready to go.

ive heard just as much hearsay as you have on the boost controller kit but tbh i think its just people not knowing how to set it up properly.

I considered getting the PFC boost controler myself but I wanted to be able to dump up the boost at teh touch of a button rather the a few! Uses the some solenoid as the AVCR app.

    Good work btw

I just picked up my Apexi Boost Control Kit for the power fc today... it comes with a X bar map sensor.

Ill test this asap and let you all know what pressure its capable of reading in real world terms.

Still waiting on someone to come forward with a 2JZ-GTE map sensor for me to test. However despite a reliable source confirming... id like to know if it is indeed exactly the same as a SW20 (3S-GTE) map sensor as that is actually what the power fc is ready to read from.

So does anybody know the voltage for boostcut on a 1jz?
ie has anybody had a multimeter on the map sensor to read the output for boostcut?

I get mixed reports from searching, some people say around 4.3v is boostcut where others like Gizzmo say 3.8v for their fuel cut defenders..

If anyone out there is using home made fcd's on their 1j's what clamp voltage have you set them to?

Being a 5v sensor the low 4v cut sounds reasonable

I'm sure that info is readily available via search either on here or soarer central... when you get the answer post it up in here.

alternatively, wire up a multimeter, set it to max recall, yank a wastegate line off and go for a drive.

My answer comes from Cihan Aday on Soarercentral.

I don't know about psi. I always thought it was 14.7psi but lately I have heard of 13.8psi.

    ok update time.

Just to refresh, im working with the power fc here and im using it as a tool to benchmark the limits of the map sensors it supports.

    These are,
    the standard 1JZ-GTE map sensor.
the standard SW20 map sensor. (aka 3S-GTE and even the 2JZ-GTE)
the apexi map sensor provided with the power fc boost controller kit.

We have found the maximum capacity of the 1JZ-GTE map sensor to be 1.16 BAR or 16.5 PSI.

    Ive yet to test the SW20 / 3S-GTE / 2JZ-GTE map sensor.

Today I tested the apexi map sensor that was supplied with my new apexi pfc boost control kit.
It supports a maximum of 1.88 kg/cm2 or 26.7 PSI or 1.84 BAR.

For anyone that remembers my 1JZ map sensor reading slightly low at atmospheric pressure, they might be interested to know the apexi map sensor does too, but slightly less at -21 mmHg (-0.41 PSI) compared to the standard map sensor at -28 mmHg (-0.54 PSI).

The apexi map sensor like the standard map sensor, is a Denso unit.

More to come when I test the SW20 map sensor.

Attached are data logs of the two map sensors being pressurised with a standard air compressor. Obviously the car isnt running.

'PIM' & 'BOST' voltages can be tracked with the logs however when recording the apexi map log, the 'BOST' voltage terminated before max pressure due to what i think was boost cut.

    Update.

Dissapointing find from the first 2JZ-GTE map sensor ive tried. Its from a 94 JZA80 RZ TT.
Despite a different physical shape AND part number as the 1JZ-GTE map sensor from my supra, it gave the exact same results.

It behaved exactly the same as the 1JZ so much so that, it only worked under the same PIM setting as the 1JZ map (NORMAL) and yeild a offset reading when tried under SW20, just like the 1J map did.

Ill have to speak with manny before i can draw any more conclusions, in the mean time here are some photos.
