w58 & v160 shifters

are these at all compatible? reason I ask is that there is plenty of short throw shifters for the v160 supra box but very few for the w58 boxes. can the v160 shifter be modifed to fit the w58, if so, what would need to be done. any help in this matter would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

The answer to your question is "it depends". If the W58 you're referring to has the external shifter linkage, then yes - otherwise no.

Having said that, if you have the internal shifter version there are still a lot of short-throw shifters available for them. Keep looking!

I think Dellows make a W58 short throw from memory. Or ring around the import yards, i've bought one from an import yard. Can't remember the name off the top of my head though.

I know they are expensive, but i got a C's one and I can definetly say it's worth the money (shift is fast and the quality is very good). I believe there is currently another group buy being organised for these items on www.supraforums.com.au I got mine through the previous GB and it cost me $380 delivered to my door.

The one i bought from the import yard, think it was Import Bitz, was a C's item from Japan. Was to suit the R154 and was only $200 second hand.
