Default A34x autos and their converters, differences

I've just gone and bought another 1UZ, this time destined for my MX83. I want to use the auto that is on the 1UZ now. Couple of small problems though:

    1. I went to put the converter back in, and it didn't really want to go back in. A closer look suggests it may have been dropped, and damaged a little bit near the oil pump drive (out of round.) Therefore, I figure it be easier to just find another converter (has anyone got one kicking around??) - I have the 7M and also a 1G converter I can pull out and use, but I presume both of these are useless? Even if they DID fit, they'd likely raise the stall speed quite a bit?? Also, will a JZ converter fit? Also noting stall speed... Just a matter of seeing what people might have lying around, I guess.

    2. Being a Soarer engine/box, it has the big-arse three-bolt rubber drive on the end of it. Being a tightarse, I was getting ideas of swapping output shaft, etc., and then not having to alter the tailshaft. Am I talking complete madness?

UZS131 autobox's have the standard slip yoke on them, saves swapping bits over.
They also have the standard screw on speedo drive, as opposed to Celsior and Soarer's bolt on version.

I highly doubt M or G would fit, JZ may though, but couldn't tell ye for sure.

Spline count on the input shaft will be different. Just source a UZS131 box(and TC) that Cruzida mentions and use that. Swap the bell housing from your Soarer box and everything will line up nice. After that you'll need to get the tail shaft lengthened with no mods. Then there's only a slight speed sensor rotor mod needed for everything to work 100%. Forget abouth the output shaft change, been there done that.

As Marco pointed out, the Soarer has a 4 tooth gear on the output shaft, where as the Crown has a 32 tooth gear.

No big deal if you are MoTeC'ing it, but good to know regardless.

If I was to grab a Grande IC with the electric speedo, will that work with the Soarer speed sensor? If so, I might just do it this way and alter the tailshaft. Also, does anyone have an unwanted 1UZ converter lying around that they don't want, my one needs cutting open to straighten in, and this will be expensive! (I plan to rebuild the box later anyway, but wanted a stock converter for now)

Hmm, I'm not 100% sure if the Grande speedo sensor is a 4 pole or a 20 pole.

    The UZS131's is a 20 pole sensor, where as the Soarer's (UZZ30) is a 4 pole sensor.

I'll probably be able to find time to squeeze my gut underneath a Grande tomorrow and have a look at the sensor, then I can tell everyone what I found!

Grande speed sensor (SPD/SP1) than drives the electronic speedo(gear driven 18/6 ratio) is 4 pulse/rev. THe Soarer ECU will accpet the signal from this Grande sensor directly.

Grande has a 32 tooth rotor for SP2 sensor which I assume is exactly the same as the Crown unit Cruzida mentions.
